Christie Abrams

Christie Abrams: Mother, Yaya, and Adventurer Born and raised in the heart of Appalachia, Christie Abrams grew up surrounded by the natural beauty and rugged landscapes that would eventually shape her passion for adventure. From an early age, Christie developed a love for the outdoors, often exploring the rolling hills and deep forests that marked the region. It was this deep connection to the land that would later inspire her to forge a career centered around adventure tourism and travel. In 2012, Christie, with husband and children in tow, made a bold move, leaving her roots behind and heading to the breathtaking Red River Gorge. This was a place she had long admired, and she saw it as the perfect backdrop to pursue her dreams. With a heart full of ambition and a desire to help others experience the beauty of the region, she dove into the world of adventure tourism. Christie’s career began with planning vacations and leading guided adventures, helping visitors immerse themselves in the wonders of the Gorge. Her skills and expertise quickly became apparent, and it wasn't long before she became a Tourism Director, a role she held for two years. In this capacity, she played an instrumental part in promoting the region, offering visitors an authentic and unforgettable experience. However, Christie’s entrepreneurial spirit was unstoppable. In 2019, she took the leap and opened her own guide service, where she could offer her personal touch and unmatched knowledge of the area. Her goal was always clear: to provide the best possible adventure for her customers, whether they were embarking on a serene hike or an adrenaline-pumping climb. Over the years, her business has flourished, and she continues to offer exceptional experiences, combining her love for the land with her deep desire to share it with others. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Christie is first and foremost a loving mother and "Yaya" (grandmother), cherishing her role in her family. Her personal life and career are deeply intertwined, as she often shares her love of adventure with her children and grandchildren, passing down the legacy of exploration. Through her work and life, Christie Abrams has shown that with determination, passion, and a love for the natural world, it's possible to turn dreams into reality. Whether she’s leading a group through the wilds of Red River Gorge or spending time with her family, Christie’s heart remains rooted in the Appalachian mountains, where her journey began.

In 2018, David Goldsmith made a life-changing move to Red River Gorge, where he pursued his dream of becoming a treehouse builder. Combining his love for nature with his passion for craftsmanship, David has spent years perfecting the art of creating unique dwellings and experiences in harmony with the beauty of the forest and land. David has worked in the local rental business, gaining hands-on experience in construction, maintenance, cleaning, and property management. His work led him to purchase his first rental cabin in 2024, marking a new chapter in his passion for creating memorable experiences for visitors to the Gorge. Along with his treehouse projects, David is a co-owner of a farm purchased with two close friends. Together, they’ve created a communal space where they are building their own homes, living off the land, and sharing it with their four dogs and four cats. When he’s not working on projects, you can find David enjoying the farm, hiking the trails of the Gorge, hosting cookouts by the pond, or exploring the area with guests, sharing the unique adventures that make Red River Gorge so special. David grew up in Frankfort, KY, and his roots in Kentucky keep him connected to the land, the community, and the endless beauty of nature. He loves providing visitors a jaw dropping experience whether that be the thrill of zip lining or the relaxation of awe inspiring views from local hiking or the comfort of your cabin porch.
